Class Happenings:
For the next week and a half we will be studying two specific forces that affect our every day life: gravity and friction. We will begin with a definition of gravity and then on Wednesday complete a simulation that will teach us what variables can affect the strength of gravity. After the simulation we will watch a Ted Ed video about gravity in addition to going through a video, tutorial, and reading about gravity. By Friday we will be wrapping up our study of gravity and doing a simple experiment to connect gravity to our next force - friction. Homework: Mon 1/19 - no school Tue 1/20 - no homework Wed 1/21 - no homework Thurs 1/22 - finish Exploring Gravity Part 2 Questions Fri 1/23 - finish Gravity Worksheet Class Happenings:
After a relaxing Christmas break, we're jumping into 2015 full steam ahead! On Tuesday we will be finishing up our individualized investigation into acceleration. Students will have the opportunity to review what they were doing before break and continue deepening their knowledge about acceleration. Wednesday students will have time for two things: reviewing for a speed, velocity, and acceleration quiz and having some work time for their Scientist Report. Thursday we will take the quiz, after which students will have more time for their reports. Friday the Scientist Reports are due! We will also get started in our next topic in this unit: forces. Homework: Mon 1/5 - No School! Tue 1/6 - individualized acceleration homework Wed 1/7 - (in-class: some time for review and Scientist Report work) prepare for Speed, Velocity, and Acceleration Quiz Thurs 1/8 - QUIZ, Scientist Report due tomorrow! Fri 1/9 - Scientist Report DUE, no homework |
