Class Happenings:
We're currently going full "force" in our Physics unit!* Monday will be our last day studying acceleration, then we will move ahead to figuring out what causes acceleration - forces! Tuesday students will complete a Forces Learning Guide with videos, animations, readings, and discussions. On Wednesday and Thursday we will study a few specific types of forces like friction and gravity. Friday we will summarize and apply all our knowledge about forces! Homework: Mon 11/18 - Measuring Motion Application Questions #1-4 Tue 11/19 - Measuring Motion Application Questions #5-8 Wed 11/20 - Measuring Motion Application Questions #9-13 (12 is E.C.) Thurs

Class Happenings:
This week we will be taking speed a step further by incorporating it into velocity and acceleration. On Monday we will use a variety of materials - an article, the textbook, videos, and a short demonstration, to introduce the topic of velocity, and then practice finding velocity on a Velocity Problems worksheet. Tuesday we will complete an activity to help transition us from velocity to the more complicated topic of acceleration. Wednesday and Thursday will also be days all about acceleration, from more activity to videos, to thought provoking questions and problems. Friday we will have school but no classes - it's Power Up! Homework: Mon 11/11 - Velocity Problems 1-10 Tue 11/12 - no homework Wed 11/13 - Acceleration Evaluation Thurs 11/14 - no homework Fri 11/15 - Power Up! Class Happenings:
This week we will be investigating some of the basics of physics - motion and speed. After our quiz on Monday about the metric system, we will be discussing reference points for measuring motion. On Tuesday we will complete an activity that will help us determine how speed is measured, and then, on Wednesday and Thursday, use different activities and worksheets to practice calculating and graphing speed. Homework: Mon 11/4 - no homework Tue 11/5 - no homework Wed 11/6 - finish Average Speed worksheet Thurs 11/7 - no homework Fri 11/8- No School! |
