This week we are diving right into our PHYSICS unit! This type of science will feel very different from ecology and earth science, and is very math heavy. However, we will go over the information multiple ways and allow students to have lots of practice. Monday is our introduction as we discuss "how do we know if something is in motion?" Next we will complete a speed challenge in the mini gym to determine what speed is and how it is calculated. We will investigate what graphs of speed look like in addition to doing many speed problems. Friday will will take a "mini quiz" to assess student learning throughout the week and briefly introduce velocity - the next way to measure motion!
Homework:
Mon 12/8 - bring a calculator to school!
Tue 12/9 - Describing and Measuring Motion reading + 3 Questions
Wed 12/10 - finish the Graphing Speed worksheet
Thurs 12/11 - prepare for speed "mini quiz"
Fri 12/12 - no homework
