This week we will be starting out with a fun activity - Cookie Tectonics! We will be using an Oreo cookie to demonstrate the different ways plates can move, relative to one another. In addition to the cookies we will be using a towel and notebooks, animations, and videos to help us understand convergent, divergent, and transform boundaries. More than that, we will also predict what types of land forms occur at each boundary. This will bring us to our discussion about earthquakes! We will talk about what causes earthquakes, large earthquakes that have happened in the recent past, how earthquake waves travel, and tsunamis. Should be a good week!
