What an exciting week! This week our main goal will be learning about the three types of Heat Transfer. Monday will be used to finish up our discussion from last week about how thermometers work, and review the information about heat, temperature, and thermometers. Tuesday and Wednesday we will be using numerous images, videos, and websites, along with classroom demonstrations, to learn about the three types of heat transfer - convection, conduction, and radiation. This will transition us nicely into our introductory discussions about waves.
Friday will be a fun day - we're going on a FIELD TRIP!! This unique opportunity will allow students to see the connections between the classroom and the real-world. We will travel to the Donald E Stephens Convention Center and learn all about invasive species, synthetic coral reefs, art and species conservation, and SCUBA diving! Don't forget: permission slips for the Try Diving Experience are due by Wednesday, Feb. 12!
