We're going to have a busy but interesting week this week! We will be focusing on invasive species. Specifically, our goal is to 1) define "invasive species" 2) investigate invasive species in the Great Lakes Region and 3) Describe the impacts of that species to biodiversity of the ecosystem and the effects to humans. Students will be working in groups Monday and Tuesday as we specifically research 4 invasive species in class. At home, students will chose one invasive species (different than the one they studied in class!) to research as well. They will be assessed in their understanding of these species through creation of an "Un-Wanted" Poster, which they will have time to work on in class on Wednesday, and should be complete by Friday. Thursday and Friday we will actually transition to our next topic - symbiosis, by beginning a project with our lab partners.
Homework:
M - research a Great Lakes invasive species (different than the one you investigated in class!) using the Nab the Invader website. (due Wed)
T - finish research on invasive species
W - "Un-Wanted" Poster due Friday (see examples here, here, and here)
TH - "Un-Wanted" Poster
F - no homework
