We're moving right along in this second week of school! On Monday we will check the results of our Radish Seed experiment and discuss what it can teach us about the relationship between the biotic and abiotic parts of an ecosystem. Next, we will move on to an extension activity from our "Oh, Deer!" game called "Oh Deer, Here Come the Wolves!" Throughout this activity students will have the opportunity to analyze real data and use it as evidence to create an argument that explains how 1 small change to an ecosystem can have BIG impacts. On Wednesday we will begin talking about food chains and webs by performing a string modeling activity, to illustrate the eating relationships between different populations. Thursday we will discuss what would happen to a Great Lakes food web if some of the creatures were removed and then read a connected story about Puffins.
